Fashion~This Spring INs and OUTs

Hi, everyone! It is a little early for a post, we know. It should be tomorrow, but today was such a free day for us, and we thought about this posting for the whole week. Sorry for this stupid intro, but "Hi" was too trivial.

You may think that we are going to tell you some things about the Academy Awards, but we just saw a kind of survey which said that most of people don't like watching those shows and don't care about who won the awards. Anyway, everybody heard which movie won the big award . . .

By the way, "The Artist" is an awesome movie, though it's black and white and it has no sound. It is a MUST SEE!

 Spring is coming soon, so we thought you might enjoy a posting about what's IN and what's out for us this season.

OUT - College Jackets - They are cool, and we liked them this fall, when they became popular, but now we just got bored, and we think they look a little  manly.

 

IN - Phosphorescent tops - This month, a few stores were full of this kind of items! They definitely "catch" everybody's eyes. You should try them with a leather jacket!

OUT - LONG skirts - When I (Nati-pon) was taking acting lessons, one of my classmates came with a long dark green dress, and our teacher told her this kind of skirts were made for old ladies, not for kids and we should wear shorter skirts while we are young and we don't look ridiculous wearing them. That was a good advice!

IN - Hats - Their colour should be bright, because dark hats look like Michael Jackson's and they are not girl-like. Try something better for spring! Have fun and try crazy items and bright colours!

 

OUT - High heels - High heels are something that we never thought it is going to be OUT. Until now, women were encouraged to wear heels, but this season, the critics gave thumbs down to any star weared high heels (except at the Grammys, at the Oscars . . . ).

IN - Rubber boots - Maybe in your country it is too warm outside to wear boots, but here, this winter was really snowy, so now there is a lot of water on the streets, because it is getting sunny and the snow melts. Conclusion : Rubber boots are useful and preety in the same time!

Celebrities~ Jeniffer Lopez and her new boyfriend

As most of you know Jeniffer Lopez has a new boyfriend, Casper Smart.

It seems that Jennifer Lopez is ready to satisfy all wishes of her new love, younger Casper Smart, although the singer is known as an incurable skimped.

Gossip Cop says that Jennifer Lopez (42 years) spend $ 10,000 a week for his new partner needs, Casper Smart, who is 24 years old.. It's not a big sum, as the gossips say, but the star is known precisely how drastically that takes care of his money.

Do not forget that one of the reasons she divorced Mark Anthony was because he didn't earned enough money and he was in debt

  Some source sayed that the singer hates the moments she has to pay the restaurant bill from her own money, becoming even more angry when Casper asks to borrow money. When her current boyfriend asked her for  money to buy gifts for the holidays, including hers, she got mad, but was eventually persuaded and she gave him the money.

But lets forget about the money problem and think about the sweet side of a relationship. The two of them

have performed at Valentine pictorial, and in black and white image Casper holds his beloved in his arms and kissed her head.

Jennifer had her eyes closed, her head on the shoulders of her lover. The star posted the picture on Twitter, but apparently later deleted it.

Actress, artist, singer, film producer, TV and music, fashion designer, entrepreneur, Jennifer Lopez is one of the most powerful celebrities in showbiz. She has sold over 55 million records worldwide and had roles in various films that topped the box office, including ''Monster-In-Law" and "The Wedding Planner" . In 2001, "The Wedding Planner" was the highest grossing film, while her album "J.Lo" took first place in the Billboard Top 200. Thus, Lopez became the first woman in history who took first place in both the charts and in the film, the same week.

In April 2011, Jennifer Lopez was named most beautiful woman in the world by the magazine "People", in a period og great succes in her carrer, marked by a new album and the inclusion in the  jury of the popular show "American Idol".

Celebrities~Top 10 Best Couples

Hi, everyone! Today we are going to show you a top 10 of the best couples of the last 5-10 years, in our opinion.

#10  Michelle and Barack Obama

        Why did we chose this couple? Ummm... we were a little idea-less and we just couldn't find the 10th couple. Anyway, maybe this is not a really good couple because he is not a rockstar or an actor or any other cool job... But the idea is that they are almost all the time together at the TV and they really seem to be a family, with their kids. 

#9   Fergie and Josh Duhamel

       Fergie is one of the members of the Black Eyed Peas band, if you didn't know that .  Josh Duhamel is an actor, a fashion model. He is well-known for starring in the movie "Transformers". She and Josh were dating since 2004, and finally in 2009, they wed. The only fault we could find at this couple is that she is a little older than him, but that's OK.

#8   Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth

       Just a few years ago, Miley was starring in the Disney Channel series "Hannah Montana" and she was... a child. But, suddenly, one year ago, she just got crazy! She started smoking, having a serious relationship with a guy and things like this. She met Liam in 2010, at the "The Last Song"movie, so they are a couple for around 2 years, that's a long relationship, especially for celebrities!

#7   Adam Levine and Anne V

       Adam Levine is the performer of the band called Maroon 5. He is maybe one of the most handsome guys on Earth! (Nati-pon is the biggest fan of Maroon 5) Anne V is a Victoria's Secret model. They are the perfect couple because they're ALWAYS together, even at musical awards, where he gets awarded (just like at the Grammy Awards).

#6   Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake

       After a series of break-ups and make-ups, they have finally decided to get married! He proposed her in January 2012, so these are news for most of you. Good job, #6!

#5   Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise

       This is an old story, that maybe everyone heard, because the gossip magazines wrote a lot about this couple! They got married in 2005, after he proposed her at the top of the Eiffel Tower (so romantic!), and they have a little girl called Suri (What name is that?!)

#4   Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

       They were such a nice family, and nobody thought they're going to divorce that soon. They met at the movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith", in 2004, and they break-up in 2010. They had 6 kids, three of them adopted.

       Everyone heard about Twilight, so everyone heard about this couple. We're sure that you, guys, know everything about them, so we are not going to bore you. One of the most nice things about them is that they won a lot of awards for their kisses in the Twilight movies!

  #2 Victoria and David Beckham

     

  Victoria is an English singer, song writer, dancer, model, actress, fashion designer and bussines woman. Yeah... a bit of all. He is a footballer, as everyone knows.
       They started dating in 1997, and in 1999 they were married. We really think they were made for each other, and that's why they're #2. They are married for 13 years, that is much even for usual people, but they are celebrities! They have 4 children, and the youngest is Seven, that was born just a few months ago.

#1   Beyonce and Jay-Z

       Finally, the number one!!! Beyonce and Jay-Z are both singers. They are a couple since 2002, and they wed in 2008. They have a kid called Blue Ivy Carter, who was born on the 7th of January 2012.  On January 9,2012, Jay-Z released "Glory", a song dedicated to their child. Because they're both singers, they played a song called "Crazy in love", which is one of their best song. Good job!

Fashion~Celebrities' looks at the Grammys

Hey, guys! The subject of this posting was a hard decision because we had too many ideas, but we decided to show you some of the looks that celebrities had at the 54th annual Grammy Awards!

The artist who got the most awards was definitely Adele, who won 6 trophes. Congratulations! She wore a long, black dress, which may be boring for some of you, but it was elegant and sophisticated for the critics, and high heels. Her only accessories were her big, white, sparkly earings. About the make up, she had an absolutely RED lipstick that gave a little colour to her outfit. Her hair was beautiful, curly and blonde, and it remind us by Marilyn Monroe . . . We gave Adele a thumb up!

Fergie didn't get that many trophes and her look wasn't great. About the outfit - a long orange dress made of lace with a kind of black swim suite underneath. Her hairstyle was simple: just a long ponytail. He accessories were some big golden earings and a big golden bracelet.  About Nicki Minaj's look . . . we thought Halloween is in October! Even Lady Gaga, who is well-known for her weird outfits was dressed more normal and . . . for the red carpet. Nicki Minaj wore a big red . . . piece of material (we can't call that a dress). THUMBS DOWN FOR BOTH OF THEM

One of the most beautiful looks at the Grammys was Taylor Swift's. She wore a white dress with a bright folwery pattern on it. About her hairstyle - a big . . . bum ~ totally red carpet. Taylor didn't wear much make-ueautifulp, trying to be as natural as possible. The accessories were a pair of b green earings. Good job, Taylor!

Rihanna had a nice look, she wore a long black dress with a low V neck and other details. Her accessories were a golden little purse and a big bracelet. Her hair was messy and crazy, not so elegant. No thumbs up, no thumbs down.

Jessie J wore a long metallic dress, very modern, but not good for the red carpet. Her hairstyle was OK, with bangs (of course, it's Jessie J) and a ponytail. It was one of the bad looks at the Grammys.

Cooking~ Red Velvet Cupcakes

Hi sweeties~ Sorry for the late update, but due to some problems we couldn't post. Don't worry we'll make up to you this week with something special.

  Valentine's Day is coming up and most of you want to surprise the loved ones with something that will show you're care and admiration for them. And what better way of showing it then making the present yourself? Since some of you are not as crafty, handy or talented the cooking is going to help you.

 The amaizing Red Velvet Cake with that red pop of color, with the wonderful sponge and the delicous filling, the dessert that is always welcomed, changed in cupcakes. The cupcakes are easier to carry, give and eat. They send a fresh vibe and they transmit a loving feeling.

 This is how you can make them.First you need :

• 1 1/2 cups of sugar                                                         
• 1/2 cup (1 stick) of butter, room temperature     
• 2 eggs, room temperature
• 2 1/3 cups of cake flour
• 2 tablespoons of Dutch-processed cocoa powder
• 1 teaspoon of baking soda
• 1 teaspoon of baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon of salt
• 1 cup of buttermilk
• 1 1/2 tablespoons of red food coloring
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
• 1 teaspoon of distilled white vinegar

Then it comes the frosting that can definetly change the look and the taste of your cupcakes. For it you need:

• 1/2 cup of butter (1 stick), room temperature
• 8 oz of Philly cream cheese (1 package), room temperature
• 2 - 3 cups of powdered sugar
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

 1st STEP

 Preheat the oven to 350°F. Beat the butter and sugar in an electric mixer for 3 minutes on medium speed until light and fluffy.

2nd STEP

 Add the eggs, one at a time, beating until each is fully incorporated. Be sure to scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure even mixing.

3rd STEP

 In a large bowl, shift together the cake flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl whisk together the buttermilk, vinegar, vanilla extract, and red food coloring.

4th STEP

   Add a fourth of the dry ingredients and mix, then add a third of the wet. Continue adding in a dry, wet, dry pattern, ending with the dry ingredients.

5th STEP

Scoop into cupcake papers, about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way full. Bake for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Rotate the pan after the first 15 minutes of baking to ensure even baking.

6th STEP

  Allow to cool for one minute in the pan then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

The Frosting 

1 Cream the butter and cream cheese together, about 3 minutes. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl to ensure even mixing.

2 Add the vanilla extract and mix.

3 Add the powdered sugar, continually taste to get to desired sweetness. Pipe onto cooled cupcakes.

This is it!!! You can use cream to personalize your cupcakes, put ribbons, wrap them in colorfull packages or add a simple card.
